Shortly before noon on Monday supervisors and representatives of the political parties opened the secured area where the boxes were stored and transferred them to Cancun. Agapito won with 5300 votes and Carillo with 9690 votes.

Winning mayoral candidate led a parade of  an estimated ~5000 supporters on Sunday night and gave a speech about his goal to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the island community, and thanked them. On Wednesday, IEQRoo is expected to confirm that he has become the president-elect of Isla Mujeres.
