The Aguakan workers appeared almost immediately to make repairs when the an overflow of sewer water was reported on Hidalgo avenue.  They introduced a hose and unclogged the pipe that caused the overflow. They left the cover unsealed, saying they would return, then several hours later, foul odors began to be emitted.  This was very unpleasant for workers and tourists in the area, and it is requested that Aguakan or the authorities take action as soon as possible.

Agapito cumple otro compromiso

In December, residents asked for a renovation to the traditional basketball court known as "La Jaula" (the Cage) in Salina Grande, which had suffered damage to its infrastructure. This work was done with an investment of ~2.7 million pesos and included new roofing, painting the sports floor surface, painting the walls, and changing the goals and backboards.

The shrimp boat "Fipesco 137" sank on May 22, resulting in the death of one of the crew members, and there is a 90 day deadline for its removal. According to information reported at the time, the accident occurred due to a lack of ballast because the fuel tanks were nearly empty.  It is about 900-1000 meters from the shore of a beach where the dismantling work will take place.  Several unsuccessful attempts were made to get it afloat intact, before the decision was made to dismantle it. It does not represent a danger to navigation and a signal will remain in place during the work, to avoid accidents.

The members of the municipal Children's Baseball league received about 350 kilograms of equipment from the US civil association LYNS. The baseball equipment was presented by Tori Bertucci and Sloane Carlson, who collected that bats, balls, gloves and other supplies as part of a school project over the past year. They said most of the donations they received were for adults, so they went to stores and exchanged the adult equipment for items that are suitable for use by children.
The mayor thanked the foreigners and gave them a carving of a whale shark. He promised to attend the Children's Baseball League inauguration on Saturday, June 28, at 10am at the baseball field "Ariel Magana Carrillo", when the equipment will be delivered to the children.
