Effects of Cold Front on Sunday
Frente frió afectará este domingo.. [+] Ver mas Photo & full article at this link
Oct. 8      The first effects of Cold Front #3 should be felt on Sunday afternoon or night according to the forecast of CONAGUA (National Water Commission). A tropical wave moving quickly up from Venezuela at 28 km/hr could interact with this cold front in Quintana Roo, possibly causing torrential rains, according to the forecast from the SCT (Ministry of Communications and Transport). The influx of tropical sea air from the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea could cause clear to partly cloudy skies, possibly increasing cloudiness in the evening and night, and possible scattered fog in the morning, with warm to hot temperatures.
The next part of this article is about the Hygiene Rosa campaign, translated above.
The new director of the municipal office of Bursar is Jesus Contreras, who replaces Karla Cruz. Thre was also a change in state government in the Ministry of Communication and Transport. There have been complaints on the island over the past six years about that agency which oversees the golf cart rental agencies, alleging they have tolerated many irregularities, such as allowing carts without registration to be rented during high season.

Businessman Carlos Cervera says the seven 'geotubes' should be re-installed before winter high season to begin the recovery of the sand that has been lost to erosion in that area. The strong northerly winds that are just beginning are one of the causes of the erosion. He says "We will invest our money in this plan and we hope the government will also, because all of the jetties that were installed a decade ago have deteriorated due to a lack of maintenance, and are buried in the sand.

Continuing as a Pueblo Magico in 2017
Pueblo Mágico se sostiene en 2017m.. [+] Ver masPhoto & full article at this link
Isla Mujeres is starting its second year as a Pueblo Magico, and the president of the Citizens Committee confirmed that have not been financial cuts from this national program, and more funding is expected in 2017. He warned that there is still a risk of losing the designation in 2018 if we do not conform to a number of recommendations. He said it is good that the municipality has not been affected by the budget cuts for Pueblos Magicos, and we must be even more committed to maintaining the designation in 2018. He said this will involve hard work by both officials and the Citizen's Committee. Last year it was announced that the Pueblo Magico funds would be used for signage and painting the facades of the buildings that symbolize the identity of Isla Mujeres. This funding should be received by the end of the year.
Other projects being proposed and analyzed include requests that authorities impose more order and not allow pedestrian areas to be invaded, to get rid of trash, street animals, and noise which generates complaints from tourists.

The 9th annual Diabetes Clinic will be November 3rd in La Gloria. We are a team of nurses, social workers, EMT's and paramedics with a doctor for consultation of patients who need to be seen immediately. Please consider donating $50 which would buy 200 test strips, enough for one patient for a year. We also need donations of reading glasses, particularly the higher numbers. Many diabetics have vision problems too. We have a drop off location at Marina Paraiso Hotel or will pick up wherever you are!
