 With the invaluable support of the organization Isla Animals, a Pet Sterilization Campaign was held on the mainland part of the Isla Mujeres municipality in Rancho Viejo; the response was positive. Together, the government & the community can achieve an environment thatis better and fairer for all.
Con el invaluable apoyo de la organización Isla Animals, se llevó a cabo una Campaña de Esterilización de Mascotas en Rancho Viejo; la respuesta a la convocatoria del Ayuntamiento de Isla Mujeres, fue positiva.

At an early hour, directors of different municipal agencies, and members of City Council, participated in the meeting of a commitment of this administration: providing school uniforms, school shoes, and school supplies for the students of Isla Mujeres.

A press conference was held for the International Friendship Soccer Tournament for Under 17 category that will be held in Cancun Feb. 16-20 with the grand final in Isla Mujeres February 21st. . For the next month we'll be synced with EST,  until March 8, when the US goes onto DST (and we don't). Then for ~8 months we are in sync w Central Time in the US, since we will no longer be changing back & forth with Daylight Savings Time. (DST is March 8-Nov.1 in the US, and April 5-Oct. 25 in Mexico.)           We're only synced with EST" ~4 mos/yr from Nov 1-March 8. To permanently adjust your clocks, you can chose a location like Panama that stays on EST without changing to DST

February 2-8 Island Time Fishing Tournament -- a week of music and fishing to benefit the Little Yellow School House.


Thursday February 12th will be the Navy Wives Breakfast at 9:00 am at Club Naval in Centro. The proceeds go to the Navy Hospital. This month the theme is Valentine's Day, and the tickets will be 120 pesos. This breakfast is really more like lunch, and we should be meeting the wife of the new commandant.
