The City of Isla Mujeres, led by Mayor Juan Carrillo Soberanis, announced that the maintenance and rehabilitation has been completed on Hyperbaric Chamber, located in the vicinity of the Paseo de la Trigueña, so that it is working at 100 percent, which will ensure its smooth operation over the next five years.
     "With the rehabilitation of the Hyperbaric Chamber today we have the capacity and certification necessary to provide adequate and quality services to those who need it, with this work we serve the needs of the citizenry of Isla Mujeres," commented Carrillo Soberanis.

   The Mayor added that the Hyperbaric Chamber is operating properly, with a commitment to an agreement with the Board of Hyperbaric Chamber AC, to support with the maintenance of the same, for the benefit of All the inhabitants of the island.

     Angel Rivera Méndez, supervisor of the Hyperbaric Chamber system, explained that as part of the improvements, an oxygen panel with six cylinders connected in series was installed, which was verified by the municipal authorities. He said, "In addition to the treatments with this equipment that are offered to fishermen and divers , therapies and rehabilitation are also offered for diabetic foot conditions."

Preseason game by Tigres of Quintana Roo held in Isla Mujeres
        Los Tigres de Quintana Roo held a friendly game against the Piratas of Campeche this Friday at 3:40 p.m. in the "El Pescador" baseball field in Isla Mujeres, where the president Juan Carrillo Soberanis, attended, alongside the local fans and promoters of "The King of Sports."
    In this fast-paced encounter, Tigres de Quintana Roo prevailed over the Pirates of Campeche with a score of 9-1
      This friendly game was held here at the birthplace of Sr. Ariel "Picho" Magana (RIP), the main person responsible for the arrival of professional baseball to the state of Quintana Roo. The season starts officially on March 31. 


Three Isla Mujeres schools benefiting from temporary employment program 
 As part of the Temporary Employment Program (PET) of the Ministry of Social Development (Sedesol), in coordination with the Isla Mujeres City Council, headed by Juan Carrillo Soberanis, three schools in the municipality will benefit from cleaning and painting brigades and 35 people will benefit economically from these jobs. 
  The schools are the middle school "Benito Juarez", the primary school "Julio Saury Espinoza" and the preschool "Maria Enrique Camarillo and Roa."  The work will conclude in about two weeks.

Port closed for third day for small boats

  This is due to the effects of Cold Front #34, with winds from the north gusting over 40 km/hr. Tours by the small boats within the bay were restricted, and boats under 40 feet were not allowed to go to Isla Contoy. The coastal fishermen were not able to go out from Isla Mujeres, Lázaro Cárdenas, Benito Juárez, Puerto Morelos, Solidaridad, Cozumel and Tulum.

The Cahuameros of Isla Mujeres and the Dorados of Playa del Carmen are waiting for their rival to be determined in the semifinals, and then they will compete to seek the title of Quintana Roo Major League of Basketball. These two teams will sit it out this weekend while the Islanders of Cozumel play the Universidad Modelo of Merida Yucatan, in Merida this weekend. 
   If Cozumel wins the two games, they will have 68 points and take second place, and relegate third place to the Cahuameros who have 66 points, putting Universidad Modelo in fourth place, rivals to Playa.
  But if Modelo wins both games they would be in the second group. If each team wins a game, Modelo would have a triple tie with 66 points with Isla Mujeres and Cozumel, and the regulations would determined the positions.

  International Mother Language Day was celebrated in the Agricultural Zone on the mainland.  honoring the Mayan language, with mothers who were able to exchange dialogue in that language with their children at the event, which had a festival, gastronomic show, and runway performance of regional costumes, at the school "Luis Donaldo Colosio".
    In this part of the municipality there are many families of Mayan origin, who interact with families from other parts of the country that are coming to settle in the area, and these efforts by teachers and parents seek to strengthen the regional identity.(UNESCO celebrates it on Feb. 21.)
