It is noted that the lobster fishing ban begins in a little over a week, joining the grouper ban which began on February first and is over in April. Nets and longlines aren't allowed due to the grouper ban, and during these two months the fishermen are limited to catching other types of fish, that aren't in the grouper family.PROFECO implemented a complaint module
Módulo de quejas implementado por Profeco
The municipal PROFECO (Federal Consumer Complaint Agency), Vladimir Vallejos, said this module was set up on Tuesday in the La Gloris kiosk.in response to numerous complains against Telscel and Telmex, to assist consumers who have a problem with these providers of cell phone service. However, he said the module is open to receive any complaints, even if the product or service was acquired in Cancun. He explained that a temporary module will travel to different areas of the island or Continental Zone every Tuesday. He said it was unfortunate that they learned of this cell phone problem from social networks, where they have also read of problems with the internet service offered by the cable company. He said it is important for people to file complaints to be able to integrate the cases, and there very few people come to their module located in the new offices of Tourism on Guerrero street, to file formal complaints. (That is the former CRIM building, in front of the Casa de la Cultura).
No progress toward public transportation
Convocatoria para concesión de transporte público, no avanza
Although the City Council recently approved the Urban Transportation Regulation, no progress has been made toward launching a call for companies to submit proposals or bids to provide this service. Meanwhile, residents who lack their own vehicles have no choice except to use taxis, creating a monopoly. This has given rise to various problems such as overcharging and long waits for residents while taxis give preference to tourists. It has been three years since the bus concession expired in May 2016, after Turicun provided service for 15 years, with many ups and down. But in reality, they stopped operating at the end of 2015.
There are also complaints that the taxis prefer to wait at the Garrafon and Dolphin Delivery taxi stands for the higher fares, rather than providing service at the official downtown taxi stand, where clients are often waiting in line, especially when the ferries arrive

In February, generally the temperatures are very pleasant, but weather for this month includes "nortes", fronts from the north whose winds often cause small boats to be restricted to port, and they may bring clouds, rain, and cooler temps. They cause the lobster to come out of their hiding places and move south across the seabed, increasing the catches of the fishermen.
Fishermen in this region are banned from catching Grouper and Octopus in February (and March). Lobster season ends after Feb. 28th (Lobsters kept in captivity continue to be available). LINK
