ISLA MUJERES, 17 de agosto.-
A very moving Mass was celebrated in the Isla Mujeres Bay on Monday morning commemorating the 21st anniversary of the immersion of the Cruz de la Bahia on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the town of Dolores, now Isla Mujeres. Dozens of Catholics participated aboard the ferry "Sergio Aguilar Gracia" for the Mass which was officiated by Raul Sanchez Alonso, and there were a least a half dozen small boats.  Before the event, there was a procession from the church of the Immaculate Conception, and the boats departed around 10am. There were divers laying a wreath under the sea, while one was placed on the waters above.
The Cross is a wrought iron sculpture that weighs more than 10 tons, which is now covered in coral and is visited daily by hundreds of domestic and foreign tourists.

Options for renovation of dock and kitchen
Maquetas para renovar muelle y cocinaVer mas

Now that SEMARNAT has ruled and the Isla Blanca cooperative have recovered their entire area in the Federal Zone, there are plans to renovate the dock and the area of the kitchen to rent (para arrendar). It would cost an estimated 10 million pesos to renovate the pier, including a palapa to rent and to incorporate this into part of the construction 'en tierra' (on land) in order to function as a restaurant.
