Many families were enjoying the beaches of Isla Mujeres on Sunday, and those in charge of their safety and security reported there were no incidents, a "saldo blanco" on the beaches. A tourist was robbed in front of hotel Kinich, indicating a need for more patrols in the wee hours of the morning around Hidalgo, as well as maintaining active security at the Maritime Terminal, especially at the first departure of 5am.
The ferries were operating at full capacity, and there were many private yachts at North Beach, whose owner's families were dining at Playa Norte. There were also boats going into the Makax lagoon, for their passengers to eat at restaurants there.
Hotel occupancy remained above 70 percent, and is expected to stay at this level for the remainder of the holiday season, judging by the number of reservations, according to hoteliers. Businesses on the beach are doing well.
