State government program to help fishermen

About 100 fishermen in the state should benefit from this program to help them replace their equipment, with about 50 obtaining new boats and about 50 obtaining new motors. The state government has its 30 percent contribution available, so now the fishermen are awaiting the 40 percent federal contribution, and then the list of beneficiaries will be released.
Of the 50 fishermen replacing their boats, 15 will be from Isla Mujeres, and of the 50 fishermen replacing their motors, 12 of them will be from the island, making a total of 27 fishermen from Isla Mujeres who are benefiting from this program.
It is noted that there are an estimated 3000 fishermen in the state, among the different fishing groups, of whom 250 are from Isla Mujeres.

ISLA MUJERES, 4 de julio.-
Aguakan manager, Lorenzo Pinzón Sarabia, said the company is improving the sewer system to allow waste water to move directly from colonia Caridad del Cobre to the treatment plant, along the road to Garrafon. He said the work will take place from July 1 to August 17, for the benefit of about 300 residents, at a cost of 1,450,000 pesos. They will install 560 meters of pipe that is eight inches in diameter, and the work will include 10 manholes, 30 residential sewer connections, and replacement of 15 residential connections for tap water.
The company recommends residents nearby take the necessary precautions, such as: Closing their windows to keep out the dust generated by the work, prevent children from playing near the construction area, respect the posted warning signs, and follow the recommendations of the workers to prevent accidents.
He said Aguakan appreciates the understanding of the residents concerning the inconvenience, and if they need any further information, they can call the customer service line at 073 or 891 4860.

There are complaints that outside construction workers are being hired, displacing local workers, despite a commitment by the administration to hire local workers. Some union representatives estimate that 200-300 construction workers are unemployed, causing them to seek other types of employment. Independent leader Gervasio Cahum Pool said that this administration brings in outside construction companies, as have previous administrations, and that workers must survive on construction of private homes. It is estimated that only 10-20 percent of the construction workers are employed.

going now for 10 years and we have many successful college graduates who would
