Diver dies from decompression

NÁUTICO

Muere buzo por descompresión

0 31 de julio de 2015  By Carlos Gasca

A fisherman from Puerto Juarez, who is not affiliated with a cooperative, died this morning at the General Hospital with his death attributed to severe decompression. Hermilo Hernandez, 40, was admitted to the hospital Wednesday morning for decompression with severe symptoms that showed improvement following his first intervention in the hyperbaric chamber.
It appears he came shortly after 6:30pm yesterday to be evaluated and was admitted to the hyperbaric chamber where he received his first treatment with another fisherman. He responded well to the first treatment and presented slight improvement, and discharged from the chamber and admitted to the hospital for observation. Yesterday he had complications and went into respiratory arrest at 4:40am. He was expected to have a second intervention in the capsule in the morning, but he was in grave condition and died.
The other fisherman who was treated was Jose Ignacio Gonzalez Uicab, 36 of the Macax cooperative, who was also in serious condition. He had dived down 100 feet for 45 minutes and afterwards he experienced symptoms of dizziness, vomiting, and headache. He received his second treatment in the hyperbaric chamber yesterday morning, and will need at least five interventions to achieve full benefits.
With these two cases there have been nine fishermen treated so far this lobster season (which began July 1), and this is the first fisherman this season to die from decompression.

This was originally scheduled for Friday July 24th and then was rescheduled for Friday July 31, and will affect several avenues downtown. CFE is taking advantage of this outage to change three poles in poor condition. The suspension is related to moving the electricity underground on Rueda Medina Avenue, and the improvement of facilities of low and middle voltage.
The next phases of the underground work will be on Juarez Guerrero and Lopez Mateos, as on the streets of Matamoros, abasolo, Madero, Morelos, bravo, And Carlos Lazo.
