This year the annual "Group Wedding" event will be held symbolically with one couple, and the weddings will be performed individually due to Covid-19. So far, 25 couples have registered for the traditional February 14th event, of whom 17 are from the island and eight are from the Continental Zone. The weddings will take place at the Public Registry office with only the couple and their witnesses present. (The weddings are performed at no charge, and the municipal government suspends the fees.)

 La Tertulia

La Tertulia reports that the FGE (State Attorney General's office) has begun investigations to locate "Richardson Boyd Lindsay", from the United States, who allegedly disappeared last weekend on Isla Mujeres. According to the complaint filed on Feb. 9th, four days later, he is 45 years old with blue eyes, fair skin, long straight blond hair and weighs 80 kilos and is 1.85 meters tall. (187 lbs/6'1'').
According to reports, a resident of Isla Mujeres was walking along the Caribbean-side beach across from the gas station and found belongings of a foreigner, but didn't see anyone nearby, so they decided to take the documents to the municipal Department of Tourism, who are considered to be the ones to return them to their owner.
Surprisingly, the whereabouts of this person is perhaps only known from the cameras which show him at Gran Harbor boarding an Ultramar ferry to the island on Saturday Feb. 6, which is when his belongings were found on the east-side beach, where there are currents that are dangerous to swim and there is a theory that maybe he went into the sea and was unable to return to shore.
The United States Consulate is aware of the case in order to help locate family members and clarify this unfortunate situation of the alleged disappearance of this visitor.
