ONLINE C-19 VACCINATION REGISTRATION FOR RESIDENTS

Yesterday, the federal government told senior citizens "Don't despair" and to have patience with the new website for C-19 vaccination registration. The address for the "Mi Vacuna" site was released on Tuesday, and then the site crashed, presumably from over-saturation.

Dr Hugo López-Gatell, Undersecretary of Prevention and Health Promotion, explained that the order in which seniors register does not correspond to the order in which immunization will be carried out. He said their registration time is not taken into account, but rather, there is a complex strategy by areas in all of the states. (I translated that overview in another article--there's priority to medical personnel, then by age, with considerations for the chronically ill and teachers, and geographically it corresponds to those priorities with brigades going to rural areas then cities for each category.)

He said the advancing of vaccinations is technically programmed with equal priority in all 32 states through Operation Correcaminos/Roadrunner. The Roadrunner brigades, will also vaccinate people who cannot attend at the vaccination centers and will even go to the homes of registered people.

This is from the press conference presentation about how seniors register for vaccination...it's quite long so these are summaries & not the full conference. Here's the LINK to the transcript & you can find the conference on YouTube.

Your CURP is required to register, which is found on the visas of foreign residents and the voter credentials of citizens. At the beginning of the epidemic, the site coronavirus.gob.mx was established, where you can click on the  first entry that says, "Más información sobre la vacunación contra COVID-19, dé click aquí" (For more information about the vaccination against C-19, click here) or on the image accompanying it.  The first option in the section on COVID vaccinations is the registry of older adults for vaccination.  If you click on that it will automatically open the information system where senior citizens can be registered using their CURP, by themselves or with help from family members. You can use this site that you may already be familiar with, and don't need to learn another website.  Or you can go directly to the platform at the address mivacuna.salud.gob.mx.

Q-How long should I wait to be called after my registration?

Right now it is registration, it is not  appointments and therefore you won't see a date and time to which your appointment is assigned. What you will have is a proof of having registered to also prioritize within which of the priority groups you be vaccinated. The calls will be scheduled according to how many decades of age, beginning with those over 80, then 70 to 79 and finally from 60 to 69 to conclude with this large group of our older adults,

Q-What should I do if they don't call me?

First-- Before clicking 'Send' in the information system,  make sure that the numbers, telephone numbers, contact numbers are correctly registered in the 10-digit format. Remember that 01 is no longer used, 044 is no longer used, 045 is no longer used. It's 10 digits for the whole country and, those who are registered correctly, should receive the call correctly.

Second-- You have to wait to receive the call based on your prioritization point. If you are an adult who is 60 or older, they will call you after they have completed scheduling with those 80 and over and those who are 70-79. After they are scheduled, it will be your turn.

Third--In case you feel that a long time has passed and the vaccinations have already begun in your state, then you can go into the same system where you registered and request a clarification.

Q-If a senior misses the call, can't attend, how is the appointment rescheduled?

At that time....We need to remember that at this time it is the registry and not appointments...at that time when the appointments arrive and in the case of a person who does not show up, then the way to communicate will be seen, again to find out what difficulty this older person has had in regard to being able to assign a new appointment. It is NOT a matter of "I've missed it, I couldn't get there, and now I've lost my chance to get the vaccine." No, all vaccinations are guaranteed.

Q-If civil servants (personas servidores de la nación)  have already called me, do I need to register?

No, they have already registered you after you gave them your information and your appointment will be generated.

Q-Will there be means of contact other than the phone call?

Yes, email and SMS-text messages to cell phones so that everyone is aware when the vaccination of seniors begins.

Q-There is mistrust among people from other states when receiving an unfamiliar call from Mexico City, or concern it is a sales-call.

Don't worry, you will be called from the state in which you live, therefore it will be a somewhat more familiar number for you.

Q-How do I verify the appointment on the website (later)?

Once the appointments are being given, the system will change and then a review of the appointment will be available, with the download of the "boarding pass/pase de abordar" into the system (which is the name we have called it) which is the pass in which the QR code will come which has the date and time and which vaccination center or location you should attend.

Q-What happens if I'm in the middle of registering and the system crashes?

The data will be saved periodically, there is the possibility that some of the data will be lost, but entering your CURP  again will bring up the data that you have already registered and you can continue the registration until you obtain your specific receipt.

Q-What about state platforms/websites?

Dr. López-Gatell mentioned it very clearly this morning, the registration of all older adults is carried out through this platform and exclusively from this platform. You go to coronavirus.gob.mx, click on ‘More information’ and it will take you to this button that we already explained, which  will easily take you to the registry of older adults.

Q- What vaccines are they going to receive? At what point will they know?

"Since we will have a portfolio of different vaccines for the coronavirus, then at the time it is applied, whether the vaccine is going to be applied, it is the vaccine that has the vaccination cell or the vaccination module at that time. If that vaccine that you or your family member, an elderly person, corresponds to a vaccine that requires two doses, at that moment simply and simply with the batch and with the brand or with the vaccine producer laboratory, the system will know automatically that this is a vaccine, which only requires one dose and there the scheme is closed and the vaccination receipt is delivered or that you will be waiting for a second appointment after the specific time required to generate a second appointment, a application of second dose and then already have the complete scheme."

Q-What about seniors who are unable to leave their homes?

If there is no possibility for the older adult to move from their home to the vaccination area, there will be a specific strategy to bring the vaccine to them but we don't want this to be a general situation. There is a 30 minute observation period after administration, so going to all the houses would make the operation much more difficult, and that is why there will be vaccination centers for administration.

He said they plan to improve the site and incorporate the questions they are receiving via social networks and address any general doubts or concerns, and they will have a specific vaccination site that will be more useful, especially for you (he's talking to journalists in this presentation, as well as the general public via video).

VIDEO of the Governor of Quintana Roo saying that the economic recovery was going well with protocols in place in restaurants, hotels and other businesses that have earned the confidence of travelers, including those from Canada, but  the suspension of flights from that country thru the end of April will cause considerable economic losses for the state, with the loss of 100,000-125,000 tourists who normally visit during this time.

The Governor reports that in the wee hours of last night, the coldest temperatures so far this winter were registered in the municipality of Othon P Blanco where it dropped to 9C (48F) according to the National Weather Service (Comisión Nacional del Agua-SMNmx).

MANATEE FREED
After a series of studies were carried out on the manatee that was captured in the Makax lagoon of Isla Mujeres, on Tuesday he was successfully released from the Tortugranja. This case was unique because there have been no previous reports of a Florida manatee that reached these Mexican waters, but after the studies the animal was found to be clinically healthy.
Veterinary doctor Roberto Sanchez Okrucky, vice chairman of AMHAMAR's Education and Animal Welfare Committee said, "We didn't find any indication of disease, we had a chance to heal some small wounds, but hes is in perfect condition. He's a male whose weight we calculated to be between 750 and 800 pounds, and he is approximately 3.28 meters in length." He said it is important that people limit the speed of their boats, so that the manatee won't suffer from an accident, and that they don't feed him so that the mammal follows its behavioral norms.
Benjamín Morales Vela, Biologist-investigator from the Colegio de la Frontera Sur, said, "What we did here was to take him preventatively, we evaluated his health and realized that he is in good condition, a manatee living freely. Before releasing him, samples were taken for blood chemistry, genetics, checking for parasites and isoparasites, and we took full body measurements, as well as installing a radio transmitter designed especially for manatees. The manatee was identified as a specific individual from Florida by his scars. Previous articles noted that his type of manatee doesn't live here, and that he had been living in Makax lagoon for several months.

For World Wetlands Day, municipal personnel participated in a clean-up of the ecosystems of the Makax lagoon, while respecting the health recommendations for C-19. About 20 people worked to clean the area between the "Isla Mujeres" kindergarten and the Tortugranja, collecting approximately 400 kilograms of trash. The Director of the Department of Ecology & the Environment, Carlos Barranco Garcia, spoke about the importance of these ecosystems which operate to generate and purify fresh water and provide a protective barrier against hurricanes, as well as being generators of work in fishing and tourism.
Participants in the clean-up included staff from Medio Ambiente/Ecology & the Environment, Participación Ciudadana/Citizen Participation, Parques y Jardines/Parks & Gardens, Desarrollo Urbano/Urban Development, Tortugranja, and CONAMP.

Yesterday the Mayor wrote: Today we celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the Isla Contoy National Park, a paradise where nature expresses its beauty in every corner. Together let's continue to preserve the natural riches of our municipality.
