Lanrry PARRA
The captain of the tanker "Nordic Ann" was evacuated from the vessel by staff of the Navy Search & Rescue unit due to a diagnosis uncontrolled hypertension, which put him a risk of a cerebro-vascular event (a stroke). The vessel was in national waters, approximately 111 kilometers northeast of Isla Mujeres, when they requested the evacuation. The captain was taken aboard the Defender naval boat, stabilized by Naval medical personnel, and transported to the  Estación Naval de Avanzada, in Puerto Juárez, where he was given medical supervision and taken in a private ambulance to a Cancun hospital.

Delayed rehabilitation of the hospital

Retraso en rehabilitación de hospital.. [+] Ver mas
Three week after the fire in the dental office in the hospital, patients requiring dental care are being cared for at the module outside the hospital. There are also some records at risk of damage because they are crammed into an office and exposed to humidity, because no one has sorted and moved them. Otherwise, the hospital is operating normally, with consultations taking place smoothly, and the reception area is back to the usual place. Previously people had to enter through the administrative offices. The dental services are available in the evenings. The hospital Director, David Valenzo Loeza reported that the hospital is working at 100% and a technician came on Monday to check the wiring in the dental office that was damaged. They have not ruled out that the dental office could begin to operate normally this week.

Precautions for navigation
Precauciones para la navegación[+] Ver mas
The harbor remains open to general navigation, with recommendations of caution for the fishermen due to winds from the north at 30-35kph which are remnants of cold front #18. On Tuesday between midnight and one o'clock the lowest temperture was reached of 21C (70F), which probably affected those on the Caribbean coast of the island more because the winds are stronger there.

Worshipers of the Virgin of Guadalupe will walk/run 12 kilometers
Antorchistas guadalupanos harán un recorrido de doce kilómetros[+] Ver mas
Hundreds of faithful devotees  of the Virgin of Guadalupe, of all ages, will participate in the traditional Race of the Antochistas on the night of December 11th. The municipal police will escort the runners at they travel ~12 kilometers to the chapel of Guadalupe (la Emperatriz de América), where they will sing the Mañanitas. (birthday songs in her honor).
Already on the island, you can see the first vendors offering items related to the celebrations, including costumes of Juan Dieguito and the shepherdesses, with the accessories including huaraches, blankets, and other typical items.
Joaquin Poot Acosta, chief of municipal police said they will support the antochistas with patrol vehicles and motorcycles downtown, as well as through the streets of their route, from when they leave the Church of Immaculate Conception downtown and travel the eastern perimeter road, until they reach the chapel of Guadalupe. This year the roads will not be closed since the reconstruction of the main road leaves no alternate routes. They expect a large number of vehicles will be awaiting the passage of the procession as it moves forward.
The chief of police said operation Guadalupe-Reyes 2014 began on November 28 and will continue until January 7, when the Christmas activities are completed. On the island there are 40 officers with four patrol vehicles and four motorcycles (and 20 officers on the mainland with four cars and two motorcycles.) Assistance for security is also provided by Civil Protection, the Health Department, the Navy, and in the Continental zone, the Army.

"Juanito Alimaña” grants pardon
Conceden el perdón a “Juanito Alimaña”+] Ver mas
Juan Felipe Rodríguez Delfín, who is known as “Juanito Alimaña”, has reached an agreement with Sherry Ann Nevers of the United States, who resides in Isla Mujeres, regarding injuries he suffered. This closes his complaint before the Ministerio Público (MP), although the MP could have the discretion to bring an criminal action, according to a consulted source. According to his friends, he is returning to his native Veracruz this Friday, which some presume could be associated to complaints against him because of his history of allegedly abusing several women.
Sherry Ann Nevers appeared before the MP and said that she had suffered being hit by him and had defended herself with scissors. She said they have come to an agreement that she would take possession of the house, and she now has the documents that show she bought everything within.
There are allegations of alleged abusive incidents to women during the previous three years by "Juanito Alimaña”, according to comments by former officials, and there is allegedly another female foreign resident who could file a complaint against him. There is an investigation by the Department of Tourism about alleged violent incidents in the past, with concerns about damage to the image of this destination. The MP has been asked to extend their investigation to gather information that could be used to prosecute him.
