The state geoportal for 1/19 reports 10 active cases by colonia with 1 downtown, 1 in La Gloria, 2 in Salina Grande, 4 in 23 de Noviembre, and 2 in Meteorologico. On the national map for 1/18, the municipality reports 178 suspicious and 155 negatives.

From the City (Ayuntamiento de Isla Mujeres)

Remember that the correct use of face masks helps to prevent contagion of Covid-19.

Each year, for Valentine's Day, the municipality provides free a free group wedding (one on the mainland and one on the island), but this year due to C-19, the free weddings will be performed individually, with one being performed symbolically of the group event. This includes waiving fees for paperwork and the required documents are listed in the article, which must be submitted by February 8th.

The Thor Heyerdahl traveling school-sailboat normally visits in late January-early February with about three dozen high school students on board. Under the tutelage of the experienced crew, the students learn to work together, sailing and navigating, as well as receiving their normal lessons. They sail from Germany to the Caribbean, but it's very possibly suspended this year.
