Municipal police training in criminal investigation

This training session was titled "The criminal investigation at the scene of the intervention" The municipal Chief of Police, Eduardo Fouilloux Bataller explained that these courses are provided by the
Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) / State Attorney General's office for active personnel to strengthen their knowledge of police actions relating to intervention protocols. These courses are part of ongoing training for municipal police officers.

The municipal Director of Crime Prevention, Flavio Carmona Valdivia, said that through theoretical and practical sessions, police personnel received updated information concerning their duties to protect evidence at the site, once an offense has been committed.  He said, "With these activities and this knowledge, the Police of Isla Mujeres will be able to perform their work better, always for the benefit of the island families, and at all times respecting the rights of the involved parties."

Federal assistance for seniors delivered house-to-house

In order to avoid potentially exposing vulnerable seniors to C-19, payments were delivered house-to-house for the federal pension program for seniors “Pensión para el Bienestar de los Adultos Mayores”. Municipal employees assisted the federal personnel, while following hygiene protocols, who delivered January-February payments to 191 seniors on the island and 84 in the Continental Zone, for a total of 275 beneficiaries of the program.

This payment has increased to 2700 pesos every two months, which is about $70usd monthly. Three years ago, it was 1160 pesos or $30/month   Citizens 68 and older can apply for this program, and in indigenous communities, those 65 and older.
