Today Isla Mujeres reports another case of C-19 for a total of 226, with 20 deaths and 189 recovered. The Growth Rate for the Northern Zone has increased to 0.20 fro 0.16. On the national map for 11/29, the municipality reports 152 suspicious and 123 negatives. The geoportal still has the 11/28 report with two active cases, one each in colonia Caridad del Cobre and colonia El Canotal.

Sunday, 11/29, Isla Mujeres continues to report a total of 225 cases of C-19 with 20 deaths and 189 recovered.
The state geoportal has updated the Incidence Rate per 10,000 residents, which is unchanged for Isla Mujeres (at 1.54) since the update on 11/10. As of 11/28 for the 7 municipalities of the Northern Zone they are- Cozumel-0.35, Cancun/Benito Juarez & Puerto Morelos-1.06, Playa del Carmen/Solidaridad-1.29, Isla Mujeres-1.54, Tulum-2.45, Holbox/Lazaro Cardenas-2.93. For 11/28 it reports Active Cases by colonia as 1 in El Canotal and 1 in Caridad del Cobre.

More than fifty free mammograms were provided for women of the island as part of a campaign that began in October, coordinated by the DIF, social service agency, and the IMM, municipal Women's Institute.
The INM, National Institute of Immigration confirmed that 11 men and 3 women who were rescued by the Navy in the vicinity of Isla Mujeres on Friday morning were turned over to Immigration to be taken to the port City of Cancun. The migrants said they were originally from Cuba, and had set sail from a region of the Cayman Islands, with the intention of going to Honduras seeking political asylum. However, they experienced a mechanical breakdown, as well as bad weather with rain and gusty winds. The small boat contained backpacks with clothing, various kitchen items and rotting food, as well as cell phones. As part of the immigration procedures, the FGR (Federal Attorney General) was notified in order to initiate an investigation of the possible commission of the crime of human trafficking.
The municipal Public Works Department is reinstalling streetlights that were removed prior to the impact of Hurricane Zeta, and they are patching potholes. They have been reinstalling the lights along the eastern malecon, near Isla 33. The workers began on Friday and expect to be finished on Tuesday or Wednesday, then to move on to the mainland part of the municipality. They are seeking to acquire new lamps to replace those that were damaged by the winds and heavy rains.
The pothole repair program is taking place on both the island and the mainland and is half finished. This week it is expected to be 70% completed and to reach 100% in the next 15 days. On the island, the biggest problems are in the low streets and avenues in the colonias where rainwater accumulated, while on the mainland, the problems are at the coastal areas. (photos)

Turtles continue hatching out at the Tortugranja in November
The mamas
nest along the eastern beaches from May thru October. Tortugranja staff and
volunteers gather the eggs and incubate them in the sand in a pen
outside the facility. Three species nest annually in Isla Mujeres,
Greens, Loggerheads,
and Hawksbills. Photos of nest hatching out at
