Work on the soccer field renovation began in June 2018, and it was expected to take less than three month, but is not yet completed. The sailboat "Permanent Waves was rescued after it ran aground by Playa Centro, because of the prevailing south wind, and its anchor not being firmly set. The boat arrived around 7pm and anchored in front of the airfield area, but in the morning it was near the swimmers area of Playa Centro, where the buoys mark the Navigation Channel and the swimmers area. It didn't cause problems and was towed away with assistance from other boats, and it is expected that a fine will be issued by the Harbor Master's office.
