Pedestrians hit by motorcyclist
Arrollados por motociclista .. [+] Ver masFull article at this link

In an accident on Tuesday morning on the Aeropuerto road, three people were injured, one of them seriously when the driver of a motorcycle hit two pedestrians, who were walking in the street due to a lack of sidewalk along that section. One of them had time to climb over the curb (la guarnicion) and he just had a foot injury, but unfortunately the other was hit squarely by the motorcycle and left unconcious.
The incident occured around 2am when a red and white Honda motorcycle, with no plates, was traveling from north to south on the Aeropuerto road, driven by Edwin CC, who was apparently in an inebriated state. When coming to the section by the former Cablemas office, he hit the young men from Mexico City, who were on their way to the colonias.
In that section of the road there are nothing but guarnicions, and it is practically impossible to walk the area where the sidewalk should be, so both pedestrians were walking in the street. According to the versions told, Edwin CC attempted to pass a car on the right, which, by the way, is a common custom among the motorcyclists on the island, and he did not notice the two young people who were injured by his reckless driving.
One of the pedestrians, named Osiel, was thrown onto the pavement, unconscious, and remained in that state as he was transferred to the Community Hospital, together with David and Edwin. After being stabilized, Osiel was transferred to Cancun aboard the maritime ambulance, to receive specialized care at the General Hospital, where his status is reported to be serious but stable.
David made his statement on Tuesday afternoon to the agency of the Ministerio Publico (Attorney General), while Edwin, who is presumed to be responsible, remained available for the assigning of responsibilities.

Port remains closed for small boats

Boat under 40 feet remained restricted to port, but nautical activities at El Farito and the lagoon were allowed. Another cold front is expected to arrive into the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday which could hit Veracruz on Thursday and affect Quintana Roo on Friday, with increased winds. The nautical tour cooperative reported they were working on 40 to 60 percent of capacity on Tuesday.
It is noted that the last of day of lobster season was the 28th, so any traps remaining out will have to be brought in empty and their contents released when the weather improves. Many of the fishermen brought in their traps on Sunday when the port was open.
