CAPA & Aguakan replacing network of water & sewer pipes along Rueda Medina

CAPA Y Aguakán sustituyen redes hidráulica y sanitaria en la Rueda Medina

Lanrry PARRA
ISLA MUJERES, a 23 de noviembre.-
The Director General of the Commission of Water and Sewerage (CAPA), Paula González Cetina, reported that the Governor & the state government are working in close coordination  with Aguakán, who have the water concession in the north of the state, and who are in charge of the work recently started  to replace older water and sewer networks along Rueda Medina, a main road of the island, with an investment of 2,580,000 pesos,
They will replace 870 linear meters of eight inch sewer pipe, with the installation 20 units for discharges, and 870 linear meters of water pipes, with 20 'household' connections with investments of 1.7 million pesos and 880,000 pesos respectively.
This work is being done in coordination with the City of Isla Mujeres who are repaving this section, where this infrastructure is the oldest in the town, and therefore the residents of this area will directly benefit. If there are no weather problems, the works will progress as scheduled, so Rueda Medina Avenue could be completely renovated in time for the upcoming holiday season to ensure proper tap water & sanitary drainage for the area, said Sra.Gonzalez Cetina.

The nightclub "Karma" on Guerrero avenue has two closure banners on it, and reports indicate that they were placed there after 2am on Sunday morning by inspectors with the municipal Fiscalización agency, because the bar was still operating after 2:30am. The agents were accompanied by municipal police. It was learned that surprise visits will continue to prevent clubs from operating outside their hours or allowing minors inside.

Gov. Borge celebrates Día de la Marina

Speeches were given by the Governor and the Commander of the Fifth Naval District Juan Ramón Alcalá Pignol at the event, and the Mayors of Isla Mujeres and Benito Juarez (Cancun's municipality) were present.  It was noted that on the 23rd of November in 1825, the Navy of Mexico consummated national independence, an act that set the course for the start of  actions in this service of the motherland.  On November 21, 1991 the then president Carlos Salinas de Gortari, issued the decree to commemorate this event on  every November 23rd,  as the "Day of the Navy of Mexico".

There are sidewalks in the colonias that are overgrown with weeds or have building supplies on them, particularly in amplification La Gloria. It is noted that the CFE, Federal Electrical Commission places their tension post-support lines in the sidewalks also. The obstacles are noted on the streets of Josefa Ortiz, Crescencio Nájera, and Jesús Martínez
Señora Elisa Chan, said she fell over one of these obstacles and complained about it to an officer, but nothing has been done, which has disappointed her.

Isla Animals campaign for the upcoming November Clinic-Spay-Neuter-Educate
Sally Margolis  on FB....
Hi everyone, I just posted a campaign for an Isla Animals November Spay/Neuter & Education clinic. The only way to make change is through education of pet owners and particularly education of the children-and spay/neuter campaigns. At the last big IA campaign 220 animals were spayed/neutered. There will be an education station at this clinic and Isla Animals is also set to go to the schools. Please continue to support an organization that has made great strides with 15 years of steady service to the island. And please, please help us share this campaign! Thank you! "This is Lucky's campaign, let's make it everything it can be." -  http://www.gofundme.com/IslaAnimalsNov
