Isla Mujeres Al Dia

VIDEO of aerial shots of the isle whose captions say Isla Mujeres is one of the Pueblos Magicos in Quintana Roo. It is only 8 kilometers long and half a kilometer wide. A wonderful place where you can enjoy the beautiful beaches of the Mexican Caribbean.

VIDEO of Cahuameros playing last night at the Convention Center, against the team from Modelo University in Merida. The final score was 68-74, but I'm not sure who won because the scoreboard was difficult to read in the video. Today's game started at noon at the Convention Center.

Mainland Resort & Marina owes 11.8 million pesos to Port Authority

Hotel adeuda 11.8 millones a la Apiqroo

In the municipality of Isla Mujeres, there is a total of 17 million pesos owed to the state Port Authority, APIQRoo, of which "La Amada" owes 11.8 million pesos. This resort-marina is located in the Continental Zone of the municipality.
The Port Authority has launched a campaign to collect these debts, which includes discounts and cancelling of surcharges such as interest, which continues until December 31st. There are 28 defaulters in Isla Mujeres, and they have all been notified of the program, which could save La Amada 19 million pesos for several years of interest. The total debt in the state is nearly 33 million pesos, so the 17 million owed in Isla Mujeres is just over half of this.

Tourism appears to be increasing

Ya se observa el incremento del turismo

Tourism appears to be increasing, compared to previous weekends, and good weather is expected for Sunday. More tourists are staying in hotels on the mainland part of the municipality, and there are increasing numbers of visitors arriving to the island from Punta Sam. Most of the 830 golf carts were rented during the day, and entrepreneurs reported good sales of services. The dive shops said they are operating at about 50 percent, but have many reservations for high season. The Port Authority reported that there are no problems at the ports, and the weather is good.
