Yesterday, Newsweek published an article titled: "Is Cancun safe to visit? Politician shot and killed in Mexican resort town" which begins: "A local politician was killed on Isla Mujeres, a resort island less than 10 miles off the coast of Cancún, last week." This is incorrect. It occurred on the mainland part of the municipality of Isla Mujeres in the colonia of San Antonio, not on the island.
