At the conclusion of the National Folkloric Dance Convention of the Choreographers Association of Mexico, the Mayor Agapito Magana Sanchez gave awards to the participants of this important event whose goal is to preserve the traditional dances of Mexico. 
Llegó a su fin el Congreso Nacional de Danza Folklórica Mexicana de la ACFMAC y Agapito Magaña Sánchez acudió a entregar reconocimientos a los participantes de tan importante evento que tiene el objetivo de preservar los bailables tradicionales de nuestro México.


The Municipal President of Isla Mujeres, Agapito Magaña Sánchez, went to the traditional market Javier Rojo Gómez located in the centre of the city, to pay a well-deserved tribute in memory of the man for whom the mercado is named, on the anniversary of his death, 45 years later. He is remembered with gratitude as a man who gave his best for Quintana Roo.
El presidente municipal de Isla Mujeres Agapito Magaña Sánchez, acudió al tradicional mercado Javier Rojo Gómez ubicado en el centro de la ciudad, a rendir un merecido homenaje luctuoso en recuerdo del hombre a quien en su honor lleva su nombre el popular centro comercial.
Don Javier Rojo Gómez, un hombre que dio lo mejor de sí para Quintana Roo, hoy se recuerda con gratitud a 45 años de su fallecimiento.

Fine dining a few steps away at Da Luisa or try the traditional neighborhood eateries a couple blocks farther. Stroll five minutes southward down the coastal sidewalk to Mango Cafe, Bahama Mama, Brisas, or Manolitos. Walk less than 10 minutes southwest to shop at Chedraui or to dine at Green Verde, Kash Kechen Chuc, or other options. Visit marinas, bars, & beach clubs that are minutes away by bike or on foot. Our guests recommend the Yoga classes a couple villas away at hotelito Casa Ixchel. Fresh juice, produce & tortillas a few blocks away in the village, as well as a variety of other stores and small local restaurants.

Car ferry departs Isla Mujeres at 8am and Punta Sam at 9am. The earlier crossing is cancelled



Jan. 6 Dia de los Reyes / King's Day    Commemorating the Magi bringing gifts to the baby Jesus. Gifts are exchanged & this ends the Christmas holidays. DIF usually has a party & toy give-away.
