A few days ago,the state coordinator received the municipality's updated cartography, for the development of data collection March 2 to 27, 2020, and the verification and measurement activities that continue thru May 8th.
Closure seals were placed at the construction site where a painter died yesterday, after the Ministerial police removed the body. Personnel with Civil Protection confirmed that the work lacked permits, and the municipal Director of Urban Development and Ecology said his agency will also be imposing a fine for surplus meters of construction. He said modifications to the plans had been required, but apparently not respected. Both agencies placed closure seals on the work.
The fatal accident occurred around 2:50pm on Tuesday, when the painter PP, 34, received an electrical shock and fell from a height of five meters. The construction site is located in the neighborhood of Ampliacion la Gloria on Jesus Martinez Ross avenue. According to witnesses, he had been preparing the walls before painting by putting sealant on them. Unfortunately, when using the painter's pole, he touched one of the wires of the power line, and received a strong shock. LINK

A young construction worker died after falling onto his head from the second story, after making contact with cables of the CFE (Federal Electrical Commission). The fatal accident occurred shortly before 3pm, on Jesus Martinez Avenue, at the intersection with Fernando Fernandez Street, where the worker was at his first day applying sealant, and no one at the site knew his name. He has no family on the island and came from elsewhere. The building is being constructed by the Adame family.The head of Civil Protection said the site will be closed to investigate why there were no helmets, harnesses or other necessary safety equipment. He said because it is a private construction, the license is issued by the Urban Development Department, and the construction company must comply with safety regulations.
He said it isn't within his authority to take legal action, but he recommended and advised that all housing construction should conform with worker safety regulations, so as not to repeat this experience.

Businessman Enrique Lima Zuno said various social organizations support a request that an agreement be made between medical institutions including the IMSS, ISSSTE, Red Cross, and Seguro Popular to concentrate medical services at the Community Hospital. He said if this agreement were achieved it would benefit the residents & possibly there be ongoing services available from two pediatricians, two general practitioners, two dentist, a therapist, a surgeon and an anesthetist. He noted there is also a need for medical services for the tourist population, in addition to having a hospital facility that is top-notch. He also requested that a clinic be established on the site of the old hospital to serve tourists and residents, to expedite medical attention due to the four kilometer distance to the Community Hospital.

Visit marinas, bars, & beach clubs that are minutes away by bike or on foot. Attend Yoga classes a couple villas away at hotelito Casa Ixchel. Thursday Oct. 31st- This year, the Festival of the Living for the Dead & the traditional candlelit Catrine-Catrina procession from the Fishermen's Monument by Playa Centro on Medina (up Hidalgo) are on 31st & on the Town Square!! The procession departs at 6:30p The procession participants are dressed in black and white, or catrina-garb, or regional clothing. The dance troupes will start performing around 8p. There will be an Hanal Pixan altar exhibition on the Square. Also on Thursday the 31st, (Halloween) many families will be bringing costumed kiddos to Hidalgo to "Trick or Treat". Will be a cultural mash-up and plenty of fun!
