Infrastructure at the Community Hospital will be ready in two weeks
En dos semanas estará lista
Infraestructura de Hospital Comunitario
Lanrry PARRA
ISLA MUJERES, 23 de agosto.-
- It is estimated that in approximately two weeks, rehabilitation work on the infrastructure of the Community Hospital will be completed and the facility will present a better appearance for users, said its director, Miguel Angel García Albarrán. The most difficult jobs will probably be the repair of the elevator and the rehabilitation of the air conditioning. Even more complicated is the hiring of doctors to complete the full list of doctors.
It is a commitment of Alejandra Aguirre Crespo that the hospital of Isla Mujeres will be operating to 100 percent by December at the latest. Regarding the supply of medicines, he said that although the inventory is not at 100 percent, this is one of the few hospitals that works at 80 percent regarding medicines.

CONAGUA has forecast strong storms for Quintana Roo and some other Mexican states and you are advised to keep the streets clean and follow official updates. On the scale of Intense storms, very strong storms, or strong storms, Q Roo is in the latter category. This was posted at 1p today (Thursday).
Another mama turtle got stuck in the rocks along the coast across from the high school (Colegio Bachilleres) and was rescued by personnel with ZOFEMAT (Federal Zone agency), municipal police officers, and volunteers. She is of the species 'Green' and was returning to the sea when she became lodged in a crack in the rocks and unable to move.
Rescuers released her, following protocols for the care and protection of sea turtles, avoiding any situation which could cause damage, and they returned her to her natural habitat without incident.
The City of Isla Mujeres, headed by Mayor Juan Carrillo Soberanis, is committed to the care and preservation of sea turtles, via the participation of the Municipal Committee for Protection of Sea Turtles, ensuring the care and safeguarding of the nine nesting areas of the island.
Thanks to these conservation efforts, in the present nesting season, which concludes on October 15, there have been 328 more nests protected than there were in all of 2016. It is hoped that this season, they will exceed 1500, which is the most nests that have ever been protected.

The
Attorney General of Quintana Roo is investigating Eduardo Peniche Rodríguez
"Wato" for alleged usurpation of functions, procedural fraud and falsification
of documents, in the attempt to perpetuate himself as leader of the Isla
Mujeres taxi union, according to investigative document FGE / QR / IM / UAT08 / 166/2017. The complaint was filed by Manuel Acereto López, who was a previous supporter of Wato, but has supported the opposition since last year, who have requested an assembly for new election on September 16.
There has been controversy over the election in December and a judge ruled against Wato remaining in office as leader. A video of the election will be presented.
There is also controversy concerning the head of the SINTRA governmental agency and their authorization of taxi concessions on the mainland. There are allegations that Wato has paid off SINTRA officials.

August 23 About 5000 cubic meters of rainwater was pumped by the two pumps from Las Salinas lakes until Wednesday, due to the effects of "Harvey". The pumps only needed to be used intermittently and the levels have normalized, with no incidents.
The Harbor master allowed small boats to conduct nautical recreation for tourists within the bay, after the winds subsided, but the fishing boats are restricted and expected to be allowed out on Thursday and Friday.
