Pequeños Hoteles Fascinantes entregan “Friendship Awards” como señal de agradecimiento

ISLA MUJERES, 4 de marzo.-
For the second consecutive year, the Association of Small Hotels Fascinantes of Isla Mujeres presented "Friendship Awards" for tourists who visit Isla Mujeres repeatedly, especially those with more than five consecutive visits. The president of the association, Leonel Povedano Castillo said this event is an opportunity to recognize and show gratitude to these visitors who come year after year, making the island their second home during the winter season.
He said the Association is continuing their program in 2016 to improve infrastructure and internet connections during the months of February and March by following up with the company Telefonos de Mexico.
Another important project of the group is to launch a website which can become an important location for future visitors who are seeking information on the internet. This website should help the smaller hotels of this group to cope with increasing competition. They also seek to bring together a group of young local enthusiasts to help the small hotel owners to have better marketing by taking advantage of social networking and technological tools like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TripAdvisor, YouTube, Pariscope, and others.
They are also planning several free workshops about to assist them in evaluating and improving their online presence, and to find opportunities to promote the small hotels better.
The group also wants to help and acknowledge various nonprofit groups and associations, such as the "Seniors & Friends of Isla" group, which is composed of foreigners who want to help local people and improve the quality of life of islanders with donations to the Senior Citizen's Club.
The  Asociación de Pequeños Hoteles Fascinantes de Isla Mujeres has recruited 12 hotel owners to their group, which continues to grow, and they invite hoteliers who are interested in these efforts to join them.
