SIPSE reports: At 1:30 am last night, two men wearing balaclavas &
carrying firearms stole 7500 pesos from Hotel Berny, downtown on Abasolo
St. The receptionist-watchman described them as 'robust' and said they
broke into the administrative office after he told them he had no cash.
In the office they took 500 pesos from a desk drawer, and forced the
safe open with a screwdriver, removing 7000 pesos.
They were only in the hotel for about 10 minutes, and the watchman waited five minutes to ensure they were gone to call his boss, who called the authorities. The police responded promptly and strongly, but were unable to locate the thieves. LINK
