DIF Social Service Agency invites you to be a Santa's Assistant
They are collecting toys, pinatas and candy for children who live in the mainland part of the municipality, until Dec. 14 at the DIF facilities from 9am to 4pm and at the downstairs area of the Town Hall from 11am to 3pm.

There are concerns about the paint peeling of the murals on the downtown cemetery wall causing a bad impression on visitors, and a business owner said he thought they should have used a sealant after the paint dried.
Providers of tourism services, comisionistas, and other entrepreneurs are annoyed about that the Ultramar company is selling golf cart rentals and other services to tourists before they depart from the ferries, leaving the island businesses without an opportunity.

Some workers seeking jobs are concerned about the amount of time it takes to obtain the required documents, particularly the background check for a criminal record, which takes about 15 days, and isn't free. It can be obtained in Cancun in 48 hours, but this involves the additional expenses for transportation, which involves two round trips, for requesting it and then to obtain it.One workers complained that every employer asks for the "IMSS pink sheet", but this cannot be obtained in Isla Mujeres so there are expenses for the ferry, buses or taxis, etc.

Dec. 11 Due to the winds of 35-40 km/hr from Cold Front #16, the crews who use small boats for nautical tourism or for fishing remained on the island, waiting for weather conditions to allow them to return to work. The cold front also caused temperatures to drop to 22 Celsius in the early morning and to reach a maximum of 24 during the day. (72 F and 75 F), causing locals and some tourists to wear sweaters and jackets, or use towels for warmth. Tours weren't allowed to El Farito or the lagoon areas.
On Tuesday morning, visitors were renting golf carts and shopping downtown, as well as visiting restaurants, and when the sun warmed things up a bit, more tourists went to the beaches.

Fine dining a few steps away at Da Luisa or try the neighborhood eateries a couple blocks farther. Within ten minutes walk are a variety of restaurants including Mango Cafe, Brisas, Manolitos, La Chatita, Green Verde, Kash Kechen Chuc, and the large department store-grocery , Chedraui. Visit marinas, bars, & beach clubs that are minutes away by bike or on foot. Attend Yoga classes a couple villas away at hotelito Casa Ixchel. Fresh juice, produce & tortillas a few blocks away in the village, as well as a variety of other stores and small local restaurants. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk downtown.

The other schedule shows events by the private groups in her honor at their facilities. The confirmations are at the church on Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7pm.
"Toro Goal" events at the "Plaza de Toros y Feria" in Amplification La Gloria are where two teams of audience members get a small bull to chase them between chairs for goals. Regarding event tonight (Saturday) at 7p, Isla Mujeres al Dia says: Organizers have told us that they do not kill or mistreat the bulls, it will be good to go and see in what manner the event takes place. The stadium is in Amplificacion La Gloria (along the coastal road, just north of Isla 33).
