Missing for a month
Un mes desaparecidos[+] Ver mas Photos & full article at this link

A Mass was held on Friday afternoon, which was organized by the families of the fishermen who disappeared after they departed on March 30 in the 33 foot long boat, "Anastacia". The Mass was held in honor of Jorge Fernando de la O Avalos “Pipis”, Marco Antonio Bardales Pastrana “Vampiro”, Alfonso Jiménez Torres “Chatilly”, Rusel Pech Cemé “Curro” and Humberto Constantino Ordaz “Beto” at the Caridad del Cobre church in the colonia of Miraflores at 7pm. The relatives said they are still searching on their own, and still hoping to find the missing men.
The missing men left to go fishing near Punta Molas Cozumel, and their last radio communication was on March 31. So far nothing is known of their whereabouts. There was unprecedented popular support, which pressured the three levels of government to maintain the search well beyond the statutory 96 hours.
During the first week, the search included the Gulf of Mexico,  the coasts of Mexico and the United States, near Florida. Searches were made in Cuban waters and in the Caribbean. The coastal areas of Quintana Roo and the Yucatan were combed repeatedly.
During their routine activities, the Naval fleet will continue to seek the five missing men indefinitely, in coordination with the Harbor Masters, and the family. Since the initial days, voluntary donations have been collected to fund the search, and this continues, keeping hope alive.
At the church, prayers were given thanking the Creator for the help of the people who have used social networks to share information and provide assistance.

Motorcycle collides with truck: Causes injuries

April 29
Early Thursday morning, a motorcyclist suffered multiple fractures and was immediately transported to a hospital in Cancun, after colliding with a trash truck which had broken down along a dark stretch of road in colonia Salina Chica.
Francisco Castro Turriza was traveling from south to north on the street near the Chiapaneco neighborhood at ~5am, on his way to work at the Maritime Terminal. The trash truck had broken down, presumably from a lack of maintenance, and the rear lights were not lit. Initial versions indicate the motorcycle driver could not see the obstacle in the road because an oncoming car did not dim their lights just as he was dangerously close to the parked vehicle.
A source at the terminal reported that his wife said preparations were being made for an operation on one of his legs in that afternoon, in Cancun. Preliminary reports indicate he fractured an arm and a foot.
Sr. Turriza Castro is a formal City official, serving as Municipal Trustee more than 20 years ago and is a former leader of the taxi drivers. His gray and white Honda scooter can be seen in the Police impound yard where its front structure and frame are damaged and it appears to be totaled. At 9am, after the accident, the trash vehicle was still parked at the scene.
