There is an article about buying presents for Valentines Day, which includes some prices such as: roses for 25 pesos each with arrangements of various prices up to 1350 pesos, stuffed animals for 350 pesos to more than 2000 pesos. Other available items included other types of flowers & arrangements, as well as cards and balloons. It is noted that some restaurants on Hidalgo offered live music to provide a romantic evening.

A resident of the 'irregular' colonia of La Guadalupana has generated conflict in the community because he wants to be awarded a lot that was intended to be a right of way, which was donated to facilitate access of the fire fighting vehicles after a fire affected several of the homes ('casas de cartón'), at that time.
The issue intensified when a section of what was the Municipal Cemetery wall was removed, because the municipal authorities gave an access to the neighborhood of more than 100 meters long by 2.5 meter.
Events took place on Monday night when men and women proceeded to tear down 10 meters of a wall, in order to connect the street "San Martin de Porres" with the new access. They want to recover lot #19 as a public access so that garbage trucks, gas trucks, and pumping trucks can maneuver through this narrowed access.
The fisherman "Geovanny owns lot #18, but he wants to own #19, and the other residents will not allow it. They have asked for support from the police, to connect the new access thru the cemetery with the street "San Martin de Porres". Manuel Chulin and Edelmira Uh Escalante have said they have already told Geovanny to vacate the lot, and this is what the police are aware of, and if he does not act voluntarily, they will proceed to sue him collectively before the Public Ministry.

Visit marinas, bars, & beach clubs that are minutes away by bike or on foot. Attend Yoga classes a couple villas away at hotelito Casa Ixchel. Fresh juice, produce & tortillas a few blocks away in the village, as well as a variety of other stores and small local restaurants. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk downtown.
