Empty truck found after anonymous report of armed persons LINK
An anonymous call was received Thursday evening, reporting the presence of armed persons in a red pickup truck, and a search for the vehicle was immediately initiated. Police and Navy personnel responded, and located the empty vehicle, with no driver or passengers in the vicinity.
The operation took place shortly after 7pm on prolongacion Jesus Martinez Ross, in front of the old "Oasis" in the colonia Salinas. The vehicle was poorly parked, and is a Lincoln Mark Double Cab red pick up truck, with plates from the state of Yucatan, YP81-641. The authorities had no stolen vehicle report on it, and will investigate to learn more about the plates and the owner.
The traffic police removed the plates for the offense of blocking the sidewalk. No other suspicions could be corroborated, and they didn't locate the owner or the person responsible for the vehicle.
Property dispute in the irregular colonia La Guadalupana LINK
Darjee Monroy Villanueva, who has been living in the irregular Colonia La Guadalupana for more than eight years, denounced the harassment of several of her neighbors who are now trying to remove her from her property. She said that she occupies the plot of land identified with the number 18, and with the donation of one more space by the City Council, there is now a small access, as well.
She said that recently, the 'supposed pseudo leader' Manuel Chulín orchestrated a revolt in the colonia, trying to put the residents against her. She said that she was not in her house when it occurred, and when her children saw the revolt, they called her cell phone.
She acknowledged that she, and everyone who lives in that colonia, do so irregularly, and no one has documents like deed titles, however Aguakan has entered into agreements to provide tap water.
She said, "They have made my life impossible by preventing my having a water contract, by arguing that I am occupying an access road (right of way), which is completely false." She asked for intervention by the Mayor to provide a solution to the conflict before it gets out of hand.
She acknowledged that the City agreed to the request to donate part of the Cemetery's land to provide an access to the colonia. She said, "However, now it is my property that is at stake, because they want to take it away, while there are other residents who have had possibilities and have built, where there is no intention of this same thing happening."
She said that after the new cemetery wall was erected, some of the residents, led by Manuel Chulín, began to demolish the old walls, including the one that adjoined her property, arguing that they had express authorization from Juan Carrillo Soberanis himself, which she says is completely false.
She said that the fisherman Geovany occupies lot 17 and the one she has is #18, which is recognized in the plans of the colonia and she is not invading any access, like the group is claiming.

Property dispute in colonia La Guadalupana
Litigio entrampado en La Guadalupana [+] Ver masFull article at this link
See TVIM article today & Por Esto yesterday. Darjee Arlette Monroy Villanueva, said she has lived on the property for eight years and has filed a complaint for assault and damages with the Public Ministry, against those who led the movement on Monday night to try and evict her. She offered to transfer part of lot 18 of San Martín de Porres street, block 3, of colonia La Guadalupana so that the trash trucks & the trucks supplying other services can carry out maneuvers. However, she does not want to abandon her property, because she says she has a right to it and will defend it.
At an interview that took place in Lol-be colonia, Ms Monroy Villanueva showed documents supporting her claims, as well as her voter credential showing her as the occupant of the property, although it is recognized that the colonia isn't 'regularized' yet. She blamed Manuel Chulin as the main instigator, and explained that the person who gave her the lot, Mr Amaya, granted his endorsement for her to live there.
"I am an occupant of lot 18, in Colonia La Guadalupana, I have lived there for 8 years, and I have documents that support it. The mobilization they did was promoted by 'Manolo' Chulín. There were threats and insults against my youngest son who was alone. They knocked down my wall. I have filed charges against them for assault and damage to property," said Ms Monroy Villanueva, who said she is a single mother of four children.
A few days ago, the City moved the Cemetery fence three meters inward, donating hundreds of square meters from the Municipal Cemetery to provide access at the colonias northern end, to allow entry of the fire trucks in the event of another fire.
