The State Attorney General's Office (FGE) announced that sufficient evidence was found against the three men arrested for the homicide on December 30st in Isla Mujeres to charge them with murder and attempted murder. After an intense debate between the defense and prosecuting attorneys, the judge ruled there was sufficient evidence to charge the three men with the murder of one person and the aggravated attempted murder of another, following events that occurred in a commercial area of the island.
This ruling determines that the suspects, Genaro N, Francis N, and Alejandro N can be detained for a period no longer than two years, with three months to close the associated investigation. With these actions, the State Attorney General endorses its commitment to bringing those who disrupt the tranquility of the Quintana Roo before the courts, within the framework of legality and transparency.
