Panic when a high voltage cable fell
Pánico al caer un cable de alta tensión [+] Ver masFull POR ESTO article at this link
May 7 On Monday morning, a high voltage electrical line of the CFE (Federal Electrical Commission) fell on a busy road in colonia La Gloria, causing panic among the neighbors after it made contact with the roof of a golf cart. There were tourists and a child crossing the street who were not affected, but it hit the top of a golf cart. One witness said, "The cable didn't touch the metal of the vehicle, otherwise the story might be different."
The incident occurred at 7am along the sidewalk of Lizeta Street with the Caribbean coastal (perimetral) road, and it caused a blackout in that area of the colonia. Angel Mateo Rodriguez said he was taking his son to school when he saw the cable fall onto the top of a golf cart. He said, "It was a good thing it hit the plastic top of the cart, because a couple seconds more and it would have fallen on us."
A few minutes later, personnel with Civil Protection and with the CFE arrived to remove and replace the line, and electrical service was restored in less than an hour. The Director of Civil Protection, Ulises Berman, said there were no unfortunate consequences, and he advised the CFE to be more careful and not repeat this type of incident. Although the CFE has had some service interruptions in recent months, its executives have reiterated that the networks is kept under constant supervision to prevent unexpected outages.

Turtles begin mating and nesting in May. They can be observed mating offshore from Punta Sur during this month, and they nest along the eastern beaches. Tortugranja staff and volunteers gather the eggs and incubate them in the sand in a pen outside the facility. This is the dry season when farmers burn brush from their milpa-fields on the mainland, and salt was gathered at Salina Grande lake for hundreds of years, until the mid 1900's.
