Unfortunately, yesterday Isla Mujeres reported another death for a total of 23, and three
more cases of C-19 for a total of 246, and continues to report 200
recovered. The state geoportal still had the data for 1/11 which reports
8 active cases by colonia as: Meteorolotico-5, Salina Grande-1, Caridad
del Cobre-1, and La Gloria-1. On the national map for 1/12, Isla
Mujeres reports 177 suspicious and 149 negative

The Director of the Isla Mujeres Community Hospital, Leily Osorio Mares, announced the formal installation of the Vaccination Brigade against Covid-19. She expressed her appreciation for the staff from the agencies with whom they will be working to begin the application of the vaccine against the SARS-CoV-2 virus in upcoming days, in Phase 1, to Health Care Personnel. The coordinating agencies are: Institute of Health for Well-being (INSABI), the Secretary of National Defense (SEDENA) and the Secretary of the Navy (SEMAR).
Stages

before the end of 2021. The operation will be completed in the first
trimester of 2022.
Stage 1--Dec. 2020-Feb 2021: Front line health personnel against Covid-19

Yesterday was the 46th anniversary of the enactment of the Political
Constitution of the Free and Sovereign State of Quintana Roo. They Mayor wrote: We are
proud of our identity and roots as Quintanarroenses.
The municipal Department of Urban Development and the Environment says the residents can apply via email at doc.duim@gmail.com for information about obtaining documents such as their "Uso de Suelo"/land use information or construction permit, work completion document, ecology permits, permits to clear land, and other documentation from their office, including commercial permits. Residents can also obtain this service in person at the Town Hall, respecting healthy distance, wearing face masks, and using hand gel.

Jan. 6 Dia de los Tres Reyes/Three Kings Day
The Thor Heyerdahl traveling school-sailboat normally visits in late January-early February with about three dozen high school students on board. Under the tutelage of the experienced crew, the students learn to work together, sailing and navigating, as well as receiving their normal lessons. They sail from Germany to the Caribbean, but it's very possibly suspended this year.
