Taking a step backward to orange on the epidemiological light affects economic recovery: Carlos Joaquin LINK
Governor Carlos JoaquĆn said that is why it is important to take care of people's health, save lives, and achieve balance in the reopening of productive activities with respect for protocols, preventative measures and hygiene habits. He said that COFEPRIS, SATQ, SEFIPLAN and the municipalities are carrying out verification inspections in the Northern Zone to ensure that the provisions established in the Reactivemos Quintana Roo plan are being met, which are mandatory and not optional. The Director of COFEPRIS, (Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks in Quintana Roo, Miguel Pino Murillo, said that since December, verifications by his agency have doubled. He said that this has included all types of establishments such as clothing stores, auto parts stores, public transport, hotels, and restaurants, as well as social events and parties.
The COFEPRIS director said during their inspections in the Northern Zone, they have found a lot of noncompliance in pubic transport, requiring passengers to get off overcrowded vehicles, without sanitary measures and lacking face masks. At some restaurants, they found noncompliance with measures including temperature checking, use of face masks and healthy distancing. He said these operations will continue to be more strict and noncompliance can be grounds for suspension and possible fines from 200 to 2000 UMA's (a national Measurement Unit that's currently 89.62 pesos).
The Governor explained that these reviews are intended to take care of the health of those who work in businesses, as well their clients and the tourists, to avoid a greater number of infections with application of preventative measures and habits, with respect for protocols.
