Today the total reported number of C-19 cases for Isla Mujeres remained at 226 with 20 deaths and 190 recovered. On the national map for 12/7 the municipality reports 155 suspicious and 125 negative. For 12/7, the state geoportal reports 1 active case in colonia El Canotal.

In conjunction with the Human Rights Commission, the municipal government held an online workshop "New Masculinity" with the goal of generating environments of equality and non-discrimination with respect for human rights. These types of classes are taught in an ongoing basis to municipal employees, including police personnel.
Tania
Galera Gomez, director of government in the municipality, explained that in recent days they started a series of workshops that seek to eradicate
stereotypes that generate inequalities, bad practices, and violations of
human rights, generating better citizen care by civil service
officials, in the various municipal departments.
The City reports a work meeting was held between the Mayor, the Harbor Master, Arturo Martinez Martinez and the Migration Institute delegate Yadira de los Santos Robledo because it is essential to maintain communication and coordination between them to establish correct protocols and maintain migrant control at all times. It is essential to ensure the rights of Mexicans and foreigners in the municipality, as well as having inter-institutional cooperation to control the stay of migrants in Isla Mujeres and to seek coordinated work to comply with established protocols.

Public events have been suspended due to C-19. Holidays have featured online competitions and events.
The
usual Patron Saint festivities from late November until her Día de la
Inmaculada Concepcion on December 8th are suspended, but the priest will
celebrate a Mass with a holy rosary each day for each of the groups and
organizations, according to a schedule.

Dec 13-14 Peaking of the Geminid meteor shower--This is one of the two
best showers of the year (the other is August Perseids). The sky will be
dark all night (new moon) & the largest numbers will be visible
around 2a (when the radiant point is highest in the sky). But you should
see them from mid evening until dawn, weather permitting. There should
be a 'smattering' of meters the nights before & after, and it builds
to a peak the week before. This shower features meteors that tend to be
bold, white and quick, with up to 50-150 per hour when peaking in
optimal conditions, like this year's moonless sky. On Dec. 11,12,13, the
slender lunar crescent and planet Venus will rise in the eastern sky at
or near dawn.
Posadas Navidenas Dec 16-24 will presumably be suspended along with the two decorated Caravans.
