#1-Advance of Mexico's Vaccine Portfolio-Status Feb. 5th-Vaccine Candidates
Pfizer Biontech-- So far, Mexico has received 766,350 doses of which 5850 were sent to Quintana Roo as part of the first phase of vaccinating of essential personnel.
AstraZeneca--On January 4, COFEPRIS gave approval for emergency use. Mexico has an agreement for the prepurchase of 77.4 million doses.
CanSinBio-- Purchase Formalized. After the approval by COFEPRIS, the reception of 35 million doses is expected during the next 7 months.
Sputnik V--On February 2, COFEPRIS gave approval for emergency use. Mexico has an agreement for the purchase of 24 million doses of this vaccine.
COVAX--is a mechanism established in April 2020 by the World Health Organization, the European Commission and France in response to the pandemic. Its objective was to bring together governments, organizations, health groups, manufacturers, scientists, the private sector, philanthropists and civil society with the object of promoting access to the diagnostics, treatments and vaccines for Covid-19. Mexico pre-pruchased 51.5 million doses via the COVAX mechanism. The nation awaits the arrival of between 1.6 and 2.7 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine during the first trimester of 2020 via this mechanism.
This lists the distribution to front line medical personnel of the Pfizer Biontech vaccines that were received by our state, by institution.
Stage 1: Jan-Feb 2021--Front line health workers
Stage 2: Feb-April 2021--Other medical personnel, Residents 60 & older
Stage 3: April-May 2021--Residents 50-59
Stage 4: May-June 2021--Residents 40-49
Stage 5: June 2021-March 2022--Rest of the populace (16-30)
Shouldn't be administered to under 16 years of age--The clinical studies didn't include children and adolescents.
Those currently with C-19 who haven't yet recuperated shouldn't be vaccinated.
Those with a history of severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis) shouldn't be vaccinated.
Those with an allergy to any component of the vaccine shouldn't be vaccinated.
There should be a 30-day interval in regard to the application of other vaccines.
Those with serious acute illnesses (infectious or non-infectious) or exacerbation of chronic illnesses that compromise their general health.
For pregnancy, evaluate the general state of the pregnant woman and the beneficial risk, so far these patients haven't bee included in the clinical studies.
In regard to the Pfizer vaccine, the second dose should be administered between 21 and 42 days later.
Stages of Vaccination & Priorities of Different Groups
January--Front line C-19 workers (Stage 1)
February--Senior citizens (Stage 2)
Stages 3-5 (June 2021-May 2022) Age range: 16-59. The vaccine can be administered to people with these comorbidities: Morbid obesity, Uncontrolled Diabetes, Uncontrolled systemic arterial Hypertension, COPD, Asthma, Cerebrovascular diseases, Controlled HIV, Chronic renal disease, Pathological states that require immuno-suppresion, and Cancer in treatment.
How to Register for the Covid-19 Vaccine. If you're over 60 years of age, now is your time.
1. Go to the page (given)
2. Enter your CURP (found on your resident visa, or voter ID for citizens) and verify that your information is correct.
3. Verify that your information is correct and chose the option "Si Quiero Vacunarme"
4. Select the state and municipality where you live. It doesn't matter if where you live doesn't match the address on your official ID because the object is to determine the vaccination center closest to you.
5.Enter your Postal (Zip) Code and phone number.
6. Click on enviar (send).
7.When the message appears with a file number, click save.
8. After you're registered, a person will contact you with the date, hour and location to receive your vaccine.
9. In rural communities, the registry will be through the DIF social service agency (Centros Intefradores del Desarrollo)
10. Vaccination is completely free. Report anyone who tries to ask for financial information or any type of payment.

On Friday, Isla Mujeres continued to report a total of 267 cases with 24 deaths and now there are 216 recovered. The state geoportal for 2/5 continues to report 9 active cases in Isla Mujeres as: Downtown-1, Salina Grande-1, 23 de noviembre-4, Miraflores-2 and La Gloria-1.
Today (Saturday) Isla Mujeres reports five more cases of C-19 for a total of 272, with 24 deaths and 217 recovered. The state geoportal still has the data for 2/5 which reports 9 active
cases in Isla Mujeres as: Downtown-1, Salina Grande-1, 23 de
noviembre-4, Miraflores-2 and La Gloria-1.

The state will remain in the Orange phase thru February 14th (The Southern Zone remains in Yellow this weekend, and moves to Orange on Monday. Our Northern Zone remains in Orange. )
The head of ZOFEMAT (Federal Zone agency), Kerem Pinto Aguilar, explained that protocols and requirements for entry to the beaches of Isla Mujeres will continue for the prevention of contagion of Covid-19, which is especially important in areas like the beaches, which were formerly crowded. She said that while the beaches used to be particularly crowded on weekends, with the pandemic and the orange color that we are in, it is important to adhere to the established beach-entry regulations which are clearly posted at the entrances for visitors and residents, because this is a task for all of us, in order to move forward toward the color green.
She reiterated that that the regulations in Isla Mujeres limit the hours of access and limit the time on the beach to no more than three hours. Beachgoers must respect a healthy distance of at least 2.5 meters, as well as the delineated areas. Each person must wear a mask or shield and bring sanitizing gel, as well as bringing a degradable bag to collect the trash they generate.
She concluded by saying, "For the sake of our community and prevent a possible spread of the disease, we will continue to surveillance for capacity surveillance and for proper compliance with health protools, by personnel with Civil Protection and the Tourist Police, and in the restaurants, by personnel with the municipal Department of Fiscalizacion (Enforcement/Control).
OXXO donated 215 "pantries" to single mothers of Isla Mujeres, which will be distributed via the DIF (social service agency), who put an announcement on their Facebook page so that dates and times can be established to avoid agglomerations.

Jan. 6 Dia de los Tres Reyes/Three Kings Day
The Thor Heyerdahl traveling school-sailboat normally visits in late January-early February with about three dozen high school students on board. Under the tutelage of the experienced crew, the students learn to work together, sailing and navigating, as well as receiving their normal lessons. They sail from Germany to the Caribbean, but it's very possibly suspended this year.
