Isla Mujeres History on Facebook & Website

Today, Isla Mujeres continues to report a total of 274 cases of C-19 with 25 deaths and now there are 228 recovered. The state geoportal for still has the data for February 25rd and continues to report 6 active cases in Isla Mujeres as: Meteorologcio-3, Salina Grande-1, Amp la Gloria-1, and colonia 006-1. There have been no new cases nor deaths reported in our municipality in the past 13 days.

From the City (Ayuntamiento de Isla Mujeres)

On Thursday, senior residents 60 and older from the mainland part of the municipality, including Francisco May and the Agricultural Zone, were transported to the Community Hospital on the island to receive vaccinations against C-19. Administering the first dose of the C-19 vaccine to seniors of Isla Mujeres began on Sunday and concluded on Thursday. Officials reminded everyone not to let their guards down against this disease and to redouble their prevention efforts, including wearing face masks correctly, social distancing, frequent handwashing and avoiding agglomerations.

Help us reduce the propagation of C-19...wear face masks.

The Vectors Department of the Ministry of Health plans to begin fogging to prevent the proliferation of mosquitoes which cause dengue today (published yesterday) which should conclude Friday, if it doesn't rain. The same is expected in the Continental Zone where the work began a day earlier.  After weeks of reviewing and reading ovidtraps distributed around Isla Mujeres, it was determined that there has been a growth of eggs in the traps around Salina Chica, which is the reason this fogging program was carried out. The same actions will take place in various parts of the island and the mainland. An increase in mosquitoes was detected around the lagoons and salinas, which  is where most of this type of insects are generated. LINK
