ISLA MUJERES, 31 de marzo.-
There are store owners who are complaining about mobile vendors and asking that officials remove them from areas where they are not permitted, saying they present a bad image for visitors. An owner of a souvenir store on Medina, opposite the beach, complained about two businesses that sell cold coconuts, one of which is a tricyclista. He says they generate a great deal of trash, which is not removed in a timely manner and which displeases pedestrians.
Other merchants said in addition to the vendors downtown, there are also mobile vendors selling all kinds of products and souvenirs on the beaches, as well as semi permanent vending stands at Punta Sur, and along the street in Sac Bajo. They complained that some of these stands appear to be made from waste materials which presents a poor image for visitors, and some invade sidewalk areas.

March 31
Due to the increasing southeasterly winds, at 8am it was announced that boats smaller than 40 feet would be restricted from going out for sports fishing, commercial fishing, diving, and trips to Isla Contoy National Park, after three days when the port was open for general navigation.
The Surada winds gusting up to 60kph caused advisories for the larger boats while navigating the Yucatan channel. The smaller boats were allowed to take snorkeling tours to El Farito and the Sac Bajo area, but few boaters were out. The larger boats continued their tours bringing visitors to the island. and there was a great deal of activity on land, with many tourists renting golf carts. The Tourism Office reported a "Saldo Blanco" (no serious incidents), and preventative security operations remain active. Ferries from Punta Sam, Puerto Juarez, and the Cancun Hotel Zone continued to transport thousands of visitors throughout the day.
Strong southeasterly winds are predicted for Friday, and it may be windy for the final days of Easter vacation from the effects of cold front #52, although not all forecasts take place.
