"Surada" caused the closure of the port for small boats

April 14 The port was closed to small boats after 8pm last night, due to strong winds up to 55km/hr that arrived with the "Surada". The restriction is expected to continue on Sunday, and it is anticipated that this front will diminish the effects of Cold Frong #44. Recreational activities in the Bay were also restricted on Saturday.

It is noted that the hotel was inaugurated in 1964 as the Zazil Ha by President Adolfo Lopez Mateo, as a luxurious property with nearly 100 rooms. It was the first of its kind in the area of the Yucatan peninsula, and was owned by the Lima Zuno family, but it was handed over to the federal government after a problem with debt.
Then it operated under several different names, including Presidente, Del Prado, Avalon, and now Mia. It was inactive after the hurricane Gilberto, and reopened and expanded after the arrival of the new millennium.
Lack of attention to the Caribbean Malecon walkway

This malecon was inaugurated five years ago, in the spring of 2013, after an investment of several millions of pesos. Now it appears to be in a state of neglect due to the passage of time and vandalism. Residents also want more police patrols.
New agreements in state baseball league "Frontera Sur"

A meeting took place at the Isla Mujeres baseball field "El Pescador" for the representatives of the teams participating in the III Championship of the state baseball league "Frontera Sur". The purpose of the meeting was to make important decisions to improve the league.
The teams are now heading into postseason and the contenders for the pennant are the "Mayas" of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, the "Marlins" from Cozumel, the "Piratas" from Bacalar, the "Pescadores" from Isla Mujeres, and the "Diablos" from Limones.

Fine dining a few steps away at Da Luisa or try the traditional neighborhood eateries a couple blocks farther. Within ten minutes walk are the restaurants Mango Cafe, Brisas, Manolitos, Green Verde, Kash Kechen Chuc, and the large department store-grocery Chedraui. Visit marinas, bars, & beach clubs that are minutes away by bike or on foot. Attend Yoga classes a couple villas away at hotelito Casa Ixchel. Fresh juice, produce & tortillas a few blocks away in the village, as well as a variety of other stores and small local restaurants. It takes 20-30 minutes to walk downtown.
