Llama a cuidar el consumo de luz

Superintendente de CFE
Lanrry PARRA
ISLA MUJERES, 10 de octubre.-
Leer más...There was a federal electrical subsidy program (Salida de Verano) for electrical bills from April 1 to September 30, that ended on the first day of this month, causing the price of electrical service to nearly double. The program is aimed at helping family budgets during the hottest time of the year when energy consumption is highest.
During the subsidized summer period, the lower basic tier rate applies to the first 900kwh of usage, but now the lower rate only applies to the first 350kwh used. The rates are 90-95 centavos/kwh in the lower tier, and then 2 pesos and 50 centavos/kw.at the higher 'excedente' rate. The superintendent of the CFE, Electrical Commission, Gerardo Castaneda Adame explained this and advised people to be aware about consumption to avoid unnecessary spending on electricity.

Local teachers still not on strike
Maestros locales aún sin paro[+] Ver mas
It is still to be determined if teachers in Isla Mujeres will join the work stoppage that is taking place in much of the state. The teachers are waiting for the Comité de Lucha to conduct the meeting that will determine the next steps. There are teachers in other muncipalities that have agreed to stop teaching on Monday. Parents in Isla Mujeres have not been given any notification, but have not ruled out the possibility that a decision will be made today/on Friday that will affect the students again. There are differing opinions among the parents regarding the teachers rights to fight for their rights and about the application of secondary laws, because of concerns about fairness to the students who have already lost three weeks of classes.

There is an area of instability out in the Atlantic that is being monitored. There were a fair amount of tourists seen on the beaches on Thursday, and most of them were foreign, including a group of Europeans, some from Spain, South America, and there were also several domestic visitors. The boat tour operators had some customers.
