Today Isla Mujeres continues to report a total of 274 cases of C-19 with 25 deaths and 227 recovered. The state geoportal still has the data for February 17th which continues to report 6 active cases in Isla Mujeres as: Meteorologcio-3, Salina Grande-1, Amp la Gloria-1, and colonia 006-1.
Today's
forecast says cloudy to partly cloudy skies most of the day with warmer

Police officers receive ongoing training in topics including Human Rights, Police Doctrines, Arms, Disarmament, and First Aid. In addition to the informational courses, they participate in the Department's "Active Personnel Training Course" for physical conditioning activities, as well as closed order instruction.
These courses are intended to strengthen their required knowledge and skills and help them perform procedures better, in order to provide better service to the island population. The officers are being prepared and evaluated to preserve peace and tranquility in the municipality
In coordination with the Center for Training for Industrial Work (Cecati), the municipal government invites islanders 16 years and older to participate in the new Bachilleres (high school) preparatory online course beginning in March, with registration Feb 25-March 4. They can register at the Community Development Center in colonia la Gloria between 4p and 6p, following C-19 prevention protocols and bringing their birth certificate, middle school diploma, CURP, and proof of residency, and can contact 998 937 6058 for information. The online course will last 40 weeks with a single examination. Last year 23 graduates completed the course which began on Jan. 25 in person and culminated in remote mode due to the coronavirus, on December 19th. The primary objective is to help young people and adults complete their high school studies in a comfortable, secure and official manner with the SEP (Ministry of Education).
RESPONSIBLE DINING means waiting until April to eat fresh, locally-caught grouper. There is currently a 2-month ban against fishing all 18 species of grouper along the coasts of our region, which includes Q Roo, Campeche, Yucatan, Tabasco and the borders of Veracruz.
