The
entire state remains in Yellow for January 11-17, but there has been an
increase in cases and hospital occupancy in our Northern Zone & the
Governor urges more discipline.
Today, Jan 7, there will be a six-peso increase in cost of a round-trip ferry ticket for island residents, who receive preferential rates via the "Ultraplan". Resident tickets will increase from 84 pesos to 90 for a round trip and from 42 to 45 pesos for one-way passage. Advisories were posted at the terminals last week and the appropriate municipal and state authorities were notified, according to a company representative, who added that this rate hasn't been increased since 2015.

After
more than a decade of annual clinics gathering hundreds of
islander-diabetics together, we're now serving them one-by-one &
could use your help with donations. Our all-volunteer staff of trained
personnel distribute glucometers & supplies to hundreds of isla
diabetics, while providing nutritional counseling & making sure they
understand their usage. Meters & supplies are also provided to
local front-line medical personnel & facilities when they face
shortages. Your donations are needed to purchase strips for the
glucometers & pay the rent & utilities on our small
office/clinic space. Thank-you to everyone who donated to help provide
PPE to front-line medical personnel during those two campaigns & to
ALL the volunteers & donators.
From the City (Ayuntamiento de Isla Mujeres)

The DIF director, Yuseli López Tec, said 760 assistances were given in December.
The Mayor captioned this--If we maintain preventative health measures, we can continue to move forward in the fight against the Covid-19. pandemic. The graphic encourages everyone who help prevent contagion of C-19 by washing your hands frequently, not greeting with kisses, handshakes or hugging, and to use face masks correctly whenever you leave your house.

Under the tutelage of the experienced crew, the students learn to work together, sailing and navigating, as well as receiving their normal lessons. They sail from Germany to the Caribbean, but it's very possibly suspended this year.
