NHC--A tropical wave is forecast to move over the central Caribbean Sea, where an area of low pressure could form in a couple of days. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conductive for development, and a Tropical Depression could form late this week or over the weekend while the system moves slowly westward. Formation chance through 5 days is medium-50%.
Tropical Storm Eta is now 210 mi N-NE of the western tip of Cuba, moving SW at 14 mph, away from Florida. Parts of Cuba are under Tropical Storm Watches. Eta is expected to slow & to turn northward this week.
Today Isla Mujeres reports 223 positives with 20 deaths and 187 recovered.
The state geoportal continues to show one active case by colonia in
Salina Chica. The Incidence rates for all the municipalities are
unchanged since 10/30, indicating they haven't been updated.
On the national map for 10/8, Isla Mujeres reports 149 suspicious and 109 negatives.
The graphs show the Growth Rate of C-19 cases in our Northern Zone,
which includes six other municipalities. Our Zone has been in Yellow
since Sept. 7th on the state epidemiological light. The second graphic
shows that period, because it's hard to read on the first graphic.

Turtles continue hatching out at the Tortugranja in November
The mamas
nest along the eastern beaches from May thru October. Tortugranja staff and
volunteers gather the eggs and incubate them in the sand in a pen
outside the facility. Three species nest annually in Isla Mujeres,
Greens, Loggerheads,
and Hawksbills. Photos of nest hatching out at

patrols, by Bruce. 
Public events have been suspended due to C-19. Holidays have featured online competitions and events.
