Mexican tourist died snorkeling

This weekend, the third death of a tourist in 2018 occurred, as a result of snorkeling. The 48 year old man, from the state of Mexico, had difficulty in the water while snorkeling in the area of the Manchones reef, and vomited, according to reports. He was taken in a small boat to the Playa Lancheros pier, where attempts were made to revive him. The pareamedic report said he suffered asphyxiation by submersion in seawater. He was given first aid before the Red Crass personnel arrived, but nothing could be done, and he passed away, to the grief of the relatives who accompanied him. The ministerial procedures took place and the body was taken to Cancun shortly afterwards.
In the spring, there was a foreigner whose body was brought to the same pier, after he had difficulty while swimming in the Marine park. The other death occurred in the summer, and was a Canadian who was brought to Muelle 7 pier, with serious problems.
It seems that those suffering from heart problems cannot meet the demands required for swimming in the areas where the current is strong. They want to see the underwater richness of the area, but swimming demands energy, according to the service providers. They try to ensure their clients are safe, but they don't know if some have health problems. They acknowledged that in many cases, swimming only causes fatigue, or wooziness, and snorkelers are immediately assisted back into the boat to recuperate.

A driver of a red Volkswagen beetle, who was allegedly inebriated, collided with two taxis, causing major damage. The accident occurred before the wee hours of Sunday (sic late Saturday night...TVIM has video of the cars being towed before midnight), when Juan N. was traveling at an excessive speed, according to witnesses, in front of the former location of the ex-cooperative of shrimp fishermen, "Boca Iglesia", when the VW was traveling from downtown (going south).
The VW, which lacks a license plate, hit Taxi #74 damaging its right front area, then hit another taxi. Both taxis were traveling from south to north, and the VW had invaded the oncoming lane, while allegedly speeding, and it is presumed he will be responsible for the costs. Both drivers were taken to the hospital, the vehicles were taken to the impound yard, and the road was blocked for several minutes while the cars were being removed.

Thursday, Nov. 1 All Saint's Day Dia de los Muertos
Friday, Nov. 2 All Soul's Day Dia de los Muertos
At this time of year, Mexican families remember & celebrate their departed relatives. Hanal Pixan is the name of the Mayan celebration. Altars are made with photos of the deceased, where offerings of favorite foods and items are placed, copal incense is burned, and marigold flower petals are often used.
All Saints Day & All Souls Day, Nov. 1 & 2, are the Dias de los Muertos...one for children, one for adults, when families visit graves & clean & decorate them. On the island, these are private moments in the cemeteries, not public celebrations like in many parts of Mexico. Try some seasonal Pibi Pollo tamales & Pan de los Muertos pastry.
There is usually a silent procession from the Cemetery down Hidalgo, ending at the Casa de la Cultura, where there are usually altars representing various regions of Mexico, and a Catrina contest. Most of the participants in the procession are in catrina makeup or wearing regional clothing, and the rest are in white, and they carry candles.
Efforts are made to not let the Halloween overshadow the Mexican celebrations and traditions, and there are usually altar contests and/or exhibitions in the schools. There have also been competitions on the Town Square, and altars can be seen in various businesses, at the Town Hall and they are present in many homes.
