Centros de hospedaje no cuentan con reservaciones para agosto
Manuel VALDEZISLA MUJERES, 20 de junio.- :LINKLeer más...Despite the decreased number of visitors, the island has an overall hotel occupancy rate of 40% among the hotels downtown and along the beaches. According to the municipal Tourism agency, the Isla Mujeres Hotel Association (HIM) has an occupancy rate of 36% while other hotels reported a rate of 40%, with an increase over the weekend, when it reached 50% . There is a lack of reservations for August, but in the winter season there are visitors who return annually. And every year there are thousands of visitors who come for the day to picnic on the beautiful, tranquil beaches, hence the importance of promoting the various attractions of this destination where people can have a fun vacation in total security.

Mass closure of businesses on the isle
Cierre masivo de negocios en la isla[+] Ver mas
The President of the Chamber of Commerce, Juan Carrillo Figueroa, said that ~15% of their member businesses have closed their doors, temporarily or permanently, due to the economic hardships of off season. He said many employers have had to apply "solidarity breaks" in order to maintain their workforce and not harm the employees, since their earnings hardly cover the payroll. Expectations are that business will improve with the start of the holiday season. He concluded by saying that the island needs to be more heavily promoted, with the promotion of natural resources like swimming with the whale sharks, so more people will visit this tourism destination and we all would benefit.

Sat & Sun June 22 & 23 : Super Full Moon (6:50, 7:50, & ~hour later nightly)
Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year. BTW the serpent shadow moving on the steps of Chichen Itza occurs with the Equinoxes.
Super Moon of June: The biggest brightest moon of the year
This year the Supermoon will be up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical Full Moon is. This is a result of the Moon reaching its perigree — the closest that it gets to the Earth during the course of its orbit. During perigree on June 23 the Moon will be “only” about 221,824 miles away, as compared to the 252,581 miles away that it is at its furthest distance from the Earth (apogee). Source link

The Early Edition has headlines & newspaper photographs.
This Final Edition has translated articles, events, & original photos with the "Around the Internet in the Past 24 Hours" section.
Both blogs always have links to the original articles.
Usually if there is a headline, but no translation, it was probably published in another paper recently, and the information was translated.in a previous post, usually in the past couple days.
