The Director of Tourism reports that hotels have reservations for ~75% of their rooms during the summer holiday months of July and August. This season in Isla Mujeres is enjoyed particularly by tourists from Mexico, the US, and Canada. They are attracted by the beautiful beaches, restaurants, various bars, and variety of activities on land and sea. The Office of Tourism will continue training tourism service providers. Reservations are expected to increase in early July, since many people plan their vacations at the last minute. Occupancy during summer vacation is expected to reach or exceed 80%, which is beneficial, although the highest occupancy rates occur in the winter season when they can reach nearly 100 percent.

Super Moon of June: The biggest brightest moon of the year
This year the Supermoon will be up to 14% larger and 30% brighter than a typical Full Moon is. This is a result of the Moon reaching its perigree — the closest that it gets to the Earth during the course of its orbit. During perigree on June 23 the Moon will be “only” about 221,824 miles away, as compared to the 252,581 miles away that it is at its furthest distance from the Earth (apogee). Source link

Lolo Lorena Dinner Jun 23, 2013, 9:05 AM
I am sitting here this morning still in awe over dinner last night! I
love writing trip reports so I will do one later when I have a computer
and not just my phone...but I had to do this now. The meal was
incredible! Someone gave her crab just before we arrived so we had one
extra course of crab legs! Woo-who! On to risotto with 5 cheeses, seared
tuna with a cucumber salad, main entree of chicken with potatoes and
veggies and a piece of fried chicken skin with sea salt that was
amazing! Dessert was a platter of dainty samples: grapefruit,
passionfruit, strawberries with Ginger and mint, a shortbread cookie,
grilled pineapple, mango sorbet, and a chocolate mousse. Oh, and a
mojito too. We brought our own wine , as she instructed. One of the best
meals I've ever had!! Lolo is a delight! You can just get a sense of
her gentle sweet spirit right away! I had to hug her when we left! :) I
feel extremely lucky to have experienced this and we will definitely
come back next visit! Lolo is leaving soon for her two month vacation so
her last meal is on Monday.
We're having such a great time here!!

Isla Mujeres Scholarship Group. High
School is not free in Mexico. The cost is approximately $50 per month
and on an island where the average daily wage is $8, this can be a huge
strain for some families. We have matched up people who travel
frequently to the island of Isla Mujeres, Mexico, (Islaholics) with
students on the island to provide financial assistance for high school
and college expenses. Many of our students not only excel, but have gone
further with their education than they ever dreamed possible.

Both blogs always have links to the original articles.
Usually if there is a headline, but no translation, it was probably published in another paper recently, and the information was translated.in a previous post, usually in the past couple days.
